On December 21, 2025, the Flint City Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to assist multiple neighboring agencies in responding to a large brush fire in the 5000 block of Highway 36.

Flint City responded with Brush 4 and Truck 2. Upon arrival, crews found approximately 100 acres already burned. The fire involved multiple hay bales and an open field, creating challenging conditions for containment.

Flint personnel worked alongside partner agencies to support suppression and containment operations. The Alabama Forestry Commission established a containment line to prevent further spread, while assisting departments coordinated water supply, exposure protection, and perimeter control.

Thanks to the combined efforts of all responding agencies, the fire was successfully contained and no injuries were reported.

The Flint City Volunteer Fire Department extends its appreciation to all departments and forestry personnel who responded swiftly and worked collaboratively to protect life and property.
